Returning happily to the art-journal-in-progress by my friend Mary Ann Russo, I'm delighted to show more examples of her work in the detail close-up shots below:
Done on heavyweight, cold press watercolor paper, Mary Ann's dimensional art was made with Liquitex flexible modeling paste, yellow acrylic paint and my 9" x 12" stencil
Swatton Borders # 1
.
The stencil itself looks like this --
Mary Ann used the border on the far right.
Thanks so much, Mary Ann, for allowing me to use your artwork here!

Lisa Dobry's Tags!
Lisa Dobry
has done some tag-painting that I was delighted to see. For one tag, she used my 9"x12" stencil
Queen Anne's Lace
--
in a very creative way ...
... and she produced the white highlights shown above with one of the
Organic Roots
stencils by Carol Wiebe.
Lisa Dobry also made these amazing tags --
-- using several StencilGirl stencils, including -- on the far right -- my 9" x 12"
Clustered Leaves
to lay in the white-and-pink background. The blue foreground was made with Joanne Sharpe's
Whimsey Script Stencil.
Also shown above are prints made with
Tall Birds Stencil
by Terri Stegmiller and a cluster of other great stencils, all available at
StencilGirlProducts.com
.
Queen Anne's Lace
stencil, in its entirety, looks like this --
Clustered Leaves
in its entirety is shown below --
-- and, if you're like me, you'll cut off the outer rectangular border to make this design more versatile. Trust me, it will all hang together!

Meanwhile, Nancy Sanderson Curry has delighted me yet again -- mind you, she delights me every time she posts her artwork of any kind because she's a gifted artist I would love to emulate -- but this item wins a special thank-you from me because she used one of my stencils, 9" x 12"

.

FANTASIA
As I'm prone to do, I've cut my 9" x 12" stencil
Fantasia
into pieces. When this stencil first came out, one of the StencilGirl Stencil Club members commented that it reminded her of "vertebrae, up close and personal!"
Her comment came back to me when I was finishing this mixed-media piece on stretched canvas. As result, its title is
Growing Backbone
.

IT'S A JUNGLE OUT THERE Teamed with Wendy Aikin's CRAZED STENCIL
Crazed Stencil
,
by Wendy Aikin, is the more prominent stencil that I used in making this mixed-media artwork on stretched canvas:
I also used pieces of my 9"x 12" stencil
It's A Jungle Out There
.
Close-ups of details:
Above center:
Crazed Stencil
was used with modeling paste, later coated with acrylic paints. Above right:
It's A Jungle Out There
was used with purple acrylic paint.
Above: Same area, but showing more imprint from
It's A Jungle Out There
on the far left and diagonally across the upper right.
Above: Diagonally across the central area, purple acrylic paint was used with
It's A Jungle Out There
. Above upper right:
Crazed Stencil
was again used with modeling paste, then coated with acrylic paints.
Above:
It's A Jungle Out There
was used with purple acrylic paint atop the horizontal red area.
When it's not cut up, my 9"x12" stencil
It's A Jungle Out There
looks like this:
Yes, I send many of my stencils to the "chop-shop" so I can more easily use smaller parts of them.

Encore: Trish McKinney's LINE WAVES Stencil
I'm back once more with
Line Waves
by Trish McKinney.
This time, I used this lovely 9" x 12" stencil to add interest to an older artwork of mine, originally made with
Crop Circles
, my Stencil Club Stencil-Set-of-the-Month set of June, 2015.
Trish's stencil was used in the bottom third, mostly on the right.
(To order Stencil Club stencils from past months/years, send a email to John Shaw (stencilgirlproducts@gmail.com) to tell him which months you would like. Put in the subject line StencilClub order. John
will send you a PayPal invoice for them.)
